Misuji 赤坂 みすじ

Misuji is hidden on the second floor of a commercial building. The best tip about dining at local restaurants, is to know what the outside looks like because I would've missed this place completely. That's why the first picture of each post would be the outside of the restaurant. The flashier it is, with bright lights and pictures, it's more for tourists. The local authentic restaurants is simple and only have the Japanese name on the outside; those are the legit ones.

Misuji just won the Bronze Medal in 2017 amongst all restaurants in Japan. It's one of the top yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo. They're known for serving Kuroge Wagyu Beef, one of the highest A5 beef ranking. I don't exactly remember the prices, but they're more on the higher price range. We ordered a set of the most premium wagyu for about ¥2,800 and there was only 5 slices. Each order is either 5 or 6 slices so it does add up. Luckily you can order congee and somen noodles for ¥500 so you can fill up on that.

I highly recommend making a reservation since they're really popular. Although they're more expensive, but it doesn't hurt to order a little and if you're still hungry, go grab ramen or something after. At least you got to try some premium Kuroge Wagyu fatty beef! It melts in your mouth like butter!
