Tokyo Big Sight - Tokyo Motor Show 東京モーターショー
Japanese import models
Race Cars & Futuristic
Tokyo Motorshow is held every other year near Odaiba between October - November. It's one of the top 5 biggest auto shows in the world and this year, the show runs between October 27 (preview day) - November 5, 2017.
Preview day limits 20,000 admission tickets and it's slightly more expensive for about ¥4,000. General admission starts the day after and tickets are ¥1,600 for adults, ¥500 for senior high school students and children are free! You can purchase the tickets online if you can manage to navigate the Japanese only website. Alternative option is once you're in Tokyo, there's a lot of participating ticket selling vendors. You can purchase tickets at major JR stations, convenient stores, some travel agencies, regular ticket agencies and some participating hotels.
We went on a weekday and it was still packed but luckily, we didn't have to line up. Apparently if you're attending with children, you get line bypass. It's a huge convention of concept cars, technology and import models! You want to be able to see everything, you may want to go first thing in the morning. If you're spending a whole day there, they have 15 restaurants and a big dining hall, Tokyo Motor Show Dining. They offer ¥1,000 meals like chirashi, hamburg, tonkatsu, curry rice and roast beef bowl. There's a ton of budget meals within the complex!
If you're into cars, techy stuff and Japanese models, you wouldn't want to miss this epic event!
