Ramenya Iidashouten らぁ麺屋 飯田商店
Ramenya Iidashouten is tucked away in a suburban area, practically in the middle of no where, but still a long line up of locals. The Japanese rated them as one of the top 10 ramen restaurants in all of Japan.
Ramenya Iidashouten is known for their chicken base broth and their signature is the Shoyu flavour. Using 6 different kinds of soy sauce blend for this perfect bowl of Shoyu ramen. They also have a machine at the back of the shop that makes fresh noodles daily; one of the best we've had! We ordered the ￥1,100 Shoyu ramen, 2nd red button from the left as that's the most popular dish. Aside from typical cha siu, they also serve black and white chicken wonton; very different from most ramen shops.
Verdict: It's one of the best bowls of ramen we've had! I prefer Shio over Shoyu but it only took one slurp and I instantly fell in love. The soy sauce blend was just perfect! This easily made it to one of our favourite ramen shops in Japan. They're really off the beaten path, but if you're on your way to Hakone, it's definitely worth making a stop here. They're only opened for 4 hours during lunch each day, closes when they're sold out, super secluded and yet, still ranked top 10 in Japan. That's how you know this place is legit.
